Zermatt skiing

Zermatt skiing is very popular with many given it's the highest resort, with sure guaranteed snow, and one of the few or only places in the world where you can even do summer skiing! Even when we were there, and the whole of Europe barely snowed for the month of December, Zermatt was still decent enough for skiing though not perfect powder snow conditions like Japan, but we couldn't complain given the sad snow situation in the entire Europe. There's a total of 360 km of pistes in Matterhorn alone and it's right next door to their Italian neighbours, which means you can literally cross country and head to Italy to ski and eat! Golden tip of the Matterhorn at sunrise. A typical ski day in Zermatt slopes - nice...

Whitepod Resort Switzerland

After a well deserved one night's rest in Montreux, we woke up to enjoy the fresh morning air and had a last view of Lake Geneva before we bade farewell to this quaint town and made our way to the wonderful eco resort - Whitepod Resort, Switzerland located in an area - Les Cerniers, a short 45 minutes drive away. Clear and sunny skies on our way to Whitepod. After a rather long and windy drive up the mountains to Whitepod, we finally reached it. We didn't bear much expectations of snow, as the resident manager had already informed us prior to the trip that the snow was looking rather dismal and it seemed snow was rather late this time round around the whole of...

Fruits Farm Juran, Fukuoka

After a quick 2 day orientation of Fukuoka, we rented a car from Nissan Rent A Car to drive to the wonderful Takefue Ryokan, 2 hours plus drive away from the main Fukuoka city. Of course, being the planner in me, I researched on what interesting sights were worth exploring on our driving trip there, and lo and behold I came across this interesting blog on autumn fruit picking in Fukuoka. Fukuoka is one of the leading fruit producing prefectures in the whole of Japan, so it seemed only apt that we should visit one of the fruit orchards, which is something I have never done before. Interestingly, when I read on Fukuoka Now, they are also the first to have produced the larger and sweeter version of...

Happy New Year and a Teddy Bear Bonanza!

Hello to my readers, I have taken a long break of 2 months since my last post on Taiwan, and it's great to be back on my blog writing, and most importantly writing my first post in 2014 on my new blog look. Let me know what you think? It's taken longer than my usual efficiency as it takes a while to migrate to the new blog, but won't bore you with all these tech-y stuff! And oh yes, before I start banging my paws away, I wanna wish everyone a Happy New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai (which means happiness & prosperitiy)! Hope the Horse year's turning out great for everyone. On the eve of CNY preparing red packets to give to the...

Como Resort, Cocoa Islands, Maldives

View of the sea from the deck of our villa. When I landed on the sunny shores of Maldives, I really understood why it was often called the "tropical paradise", a must visit that many of my resort lover friends always told me. Y had decided only 2 months ago to join her group of friends to go to Maldives for a short getaway, and of course I didn't miss out on it. We all stayed at Como Resort on Cocoa Islands, owned by Christina Ong, and it's a little island with it's own exclusive resort, spa, and a restaurant & bar. We had to take a 45 mins journey on a speedboat to Cocoa Islands, a complimentary service provided by Como Resort since Y...
